Carole woke up this morning to a marriage proposal - on the billboard facing her house. She's all for marriage, but first she must find out who the proposal is from - and fast. And this requires a nocturnal visit to the head office of the Billboard company...
Inspired by Edward Hopper's 1940 painting 'Office at Night', Mister In Between is written in the noir style. The two actors can make foley sounds themselves, or be joined by a third person on stage summoning up the atmospherics of a rundown office in a gritty city. To assist producers, the play is written in radio format.
