The French Revolution is in full, bloody swing. Citizen DeFarge Female is doing her bit for the brave new order by witnessing the day's choppings. She passes the time knitting shrouds for the freshly-headless. And when she's not knitting, she's monitoring her comrades for signs of bourgeois decadence. She never has to look far...

Citizen DeFarge premiered as part of Season 30 at the Whiskey Radio Hour, in Chicago, in July 2025. Betsy Taylor played Citizen DeFarge, Cailyn Murray was Citizen Poutine, and Peter Ruger roused the live and lively audiences to righteous fury, as well as providing sound effects. Kat Evans directed the mayhem. Brad Brubaker is Artistic Director of Whiskey Radio Hour.
